The 4 quadrants of productivity
Do you know about the 4 quadrants of productivity? One of these quadrants is where you must be to do tasks effectively. Let's dive in!
Stephen Covey identified these 4 quadrants in his book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.".
This is a book that I highly recommend for entrepreneurs who want to stay on top of their tasks.

The 4 quadrants
We spend our time in two different ways: by importance and by urgency.
As a result, we have 4 different quadrants:
Q1: Important & Urgent
Q2: Important & Not Urgent
Q3: Not Important & Urgent
Q4: Not Important & Not Urgent
Quadrant 1 - Important & Urgent
Q1 is basically where stress and crisis are at their peaks. There’s not much time to focus and do tasks properly as you are in a rush to get them done in time.
This includes last-minute assignments, real emergencies, meaningful appointments, etc.
Quadrant 3 - Not Important & Urgent
Q3 is where unimportant tasks come to disturb you. These are the tasks that keep you from focusing on the ones that are important to you.
This includes emails, calls, someone else’s problems, some meetings, etc.
Quadrant 4 - Not Important & Not Urgent
Q4 is where all the time-wasters happen. They are to be limited when it comes to achieving your goal.
This includes social media, watching TV, nonsense movies, gossiping, etc.
Quadrant 2 - Important & Not Urgent
Q2 is where the key to productivity lies.
This is where you focus on important tasks that are not urgent yet. By doing so, you can properly do your tasks consistently every day without being stressed about last-minute deadlines.
You can also increase the quality of your work as you have more time to think clearly.
What to do in Q2
This is where you take time to build your pillars of growth such as your
Spiritual life
Relationships
Financial Literacy
Physical Health
Mental Health
Etc.
Whatever other goals you have, such as side hustles, work, school, etc., can all fit into this category.
How to stay in Q2
The rules are simple
Write your weekly goals
Put first things first
Say NO when necessary
Other quadrants will still appear, and that’s fine. Keep your head in the game by prioritizing what really matters. There are so many small tasks out there that are only there to disturb you. Know when to ignore them and prioritize your goals.
You got this!
